Today was gloriously beautiful. We took advantage of the sunshine by heading to Theodore Roosevelt Island for the first time. It is only about 7 miles from our home and was a much needed break from our usual daily trip to the playground. There was plenty of place to walk at the Memorial Park. Lina practiced holding my hand while walking down some smaller steps and we even climbed a very interesting bridge. Lots of gravel was grabbed - luckily it was particularly fine gravel. But the highlight was Teddy Roosevelt's statue. Can you tell Lina was transfixed by him? She kept waving to him and seemed a little confused as to why he didn't wave back. Can't wait until the fountains are turned on this spring!
